Sherry,

While you're checking out Search capabilities, use the "Detailed Search" and
search for "Individual", "Event-Description", "Does Not Equal", " ".
Implication is that the search should pick up every individual who has an
event with information in the Description block. But it doesn't work that
way. It found only two individuals out of probably thousands in my database
that have information in the Event-Description field. Looks like it only be
looking at the first event.

It works well if I do it in two steps with the first line looking for a
specific Event name, then using the above parameters for the second line.

Steve,

I tried a search/replace in *every* note field in Legacy and in *every*
instance, I got the name of the individual showing at the bottom of the
Replacement field.

Try running a File > File Maintenance > Check/Repair and see if that makes a
difference. Also, you could try closing Legacy and then going to the Legacy
folder on your hard drive and deleting the search.usr file - then restart
Legacy and try again.

Also, be sure you have tne 14 Mar 2003 build.

And that's about the only place you can search-and-replace and make that
statement.
