Hugh,
I agree on the change to the Exit screen! "Cancel" is usually a standard on Exits.
Additionally, if Legacy is minimized, and you "Close" it via right click, the Exit screen is skipped! I would prefer it ask me anyway. Is that possible?
Thanks,
--Paula

Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] When are we going to get a new release?

For a number of years now I have tried my best to like another program
better than Legacy (and I guess I've tried them all). So far I have not been
successful.

My first problem is that the Legacy family screen appears cluttered to me. I
have not spoken about it because I don't have a solution - and may I suggest
to others that there is little reasonable purpose in posting an "update"
problem without suggesting a solution. The other side of the coin is that
Legacy is more navigable than any other program I've tried and the data
entry is both easier and easier to learn.

My next problem is that the program I want to like prepares reports for
printing much faster than Legacy. But it does not provide for name sourcing,
and Legacy does, so gedcoms are not absolutely precise between the two. I
have to select one as my prime program. Most of us can't have a Lincoln AND
a Cadillac.

A genie program needs to do two things: (1) enable data entry (2) prepare
reports. It needs to make the first simple and the second flexible. Since we
use Legacy we obviously think it does those things best.

I don't like the EXIT screen which only gives two options - to SKIP or
BACKUP. I suggested that a CANCEL option be added for those of us who exited
accidentally - but maybe I'm the only one who ever did that. AT least I
mentioned both the problem AND the solution.

Hugh
