No, for me with dash chosen as date separator, entering "bet 6-10 nov 1900"
for a new Event gives "Bet Nov 6/10, 1900" as the date. It contains a
slash, which is what Donna does not want. She wants "Bet Nov 6-10, 1900" --
well, really she doesn't want the "Bet " in there, but I don't think Legacy
will change that standard. I think, however, Legacy should recognize its
own dash vs. slash (vs. period vs. space) setting and display the date
accordingly.

Sherry?

Thanks,

Try typing "bet 6-10 nov 1900" - it works like a charm! unfortunately "bet
6-10/11/1900" doesn't work

That is what I have selected. I am trying to enter a date as, 6-10 Nov
1900, the computer program insists on 6/10 Nov 1900. What I am trying to
get it to do is indicate that the event took place between the 6th and 10th
of November in 1900. Is there a better way of doing it? Or at least one
the program will let me do? The older versions of Legacy allowed me to do
this.

Hi Sherry and Donna

That's what I thought - change Separator for numeric dates but it doesn't
do what Donna wants.

The dash stays if you enter
7 Nov 1876-8 Nov 1876 (and can cope if you add the month in numbers and
converts)
It also converts / to - if you use the /during entry.

but 7-8 Nov 1876 flicks to 7/8 Nov 1876 despite having dash chosen as
separator
and 7-8 11 1876 doesn't convert the 11 to Nov.

Cheers,
Cathy
