A branch of my tree is being prepared to be sent by GEDCOM to a person using a later version of FTM (10, 11, 2005). I am concerned about the transfer of data to that program, particularly the events and sources. Can anyone tell me what type of GEDCOM is best to send (such as Basic, Generic or 5.5) and what I can do beforehand to minimize data loss or misplacement? Perhaps Elizabeth Rodier would also be willing to jump in here.
