Pocket Genealogist.

This is one example of how confusing things have now
become. There are now TWO versions of Release 5.0.
One writes Version 5 files ONLY and the other writes
Version 6 files ONLY. I have often wondered about
Legacy's inability to write out files in earlier versions' formats.
Even FTM does that!

Presumably the current version of Version 5 reads both
Version 5 files and Version 6 files. I fail to see the advantage
of reading and converting from V5 to V6 until V6 actually comes out,
because there is no need for users of V6 and V5 to share files until
V6 is actually released. And actually they CANNOT share files fully
because only the V6 version and some of the later V5 versions can
read V6 file types. It seems a better solution to me to have Version 6
be able to write previous verisions as an option in the Export dialog.
