Hi Jo,
I see you have the pre-release Legacy 6. This will be possible in Legacy 6 but there are still a lot of problems with the new Publishing Centre.

To include children who aren't blood descendants of the originating couple you need to give them two sets of parents - their biological parents and their fostered, adopted, care-giver parents - even if one of the parents is the same in both cases. When showing 1/2 kids on Family View, they will then appear twice in the list of children when one parent is the same in both sets of parents - but they will appear as you wish in the Descendant Reports. You need to also give them a child status and a child-parent relationship and include these in reports to make it clear.

Hope that helps,
Cathy

Thanks, Cathy, for the information. I checked it but it still isn't what
I'm wanting, and don't know how to do it.

I'd like a chapter for each of the nine children of Elbert Autrey with a
Table of Contents showing the nine children as each chapter and the index
for the complete book. I would also like the children numbered within the
generation as it's so much easier to keep track of the order given.

It looks like it can't be printed the way I want it using Legacy. However,
I do like all their reports. I could print individual Descendant Narrative
report for each child and create my own Table of Contents, but the index
wouldn't work. Each chapter would have it's own index.....and I've never
seen a book like this one would be:)

Surely there has to be a simpler way using Legacy.....

Jo
