Ask your friend to re-send it, but this time to make a GEDCOM copy for you.
FTW will export to GEDCOM, the feature is probably under her File drop down
menu (most are). After she sends it to you, I would:

Open legacy and import the file into Legacy BY ITSELF. Don't import to an
existing file yet. You might decide you don't want to import after looking
at it. Look it over and correct any obvious mistakes you see. After you are
satisfied everything is the way you like it, then import into your family
file.

Subject: [LegacyUG] transferring FTW file to Legacy Deluxd5

A friend wants to send me a lot of family information and she says when
she send it it will be a FTW file. I need to know how to get it into
my Legacy file. I downloaded it to the desktop but nothing opens it -
not adobe or anything. I want to put it in a file in my Legacy. HELP.
Flo
