It depends on the operating syste. Generally speaking ... Control Panel then System and look for "Virtual Memory" aka swap file.

Try to change the setting for the SWAP-file to min 2 Gb.

It looks that does the trick for me.

Glen I'm afraid it didn't work for me. I uninstalled Legacy, only I
renamed the Legacy folder to Legacy Old instead of deleting it. Then I
reinstalled Legacy into its Default folder and opened my file. It
performed just as badly - that is when I went into Research Guidance -
Timeline and clicked on an item and then on the Edit button I got the
Run-time error message '2147024882 (8007000e)'. So then, in case it was
my file causing the problem, I opened the sample file and it did the
same thing. Patricia

Hi Patricia,

Have you tried to compact your database?

If that isn't the problem, I would recommend to completely uninstall
Legacy.
Delete all files in and including the Legacy folder. Then re-install
Legacy completely from scratch.

Make sure to back up all your data & .USR files before deleting
anything.
Once you re-install, start Legacy and open your database. If there are
no
errors, then try copying one .USR file at a time back into the Legacy
folder. Remember to close Legacy before you copy the file and re-open
Legacy after. If there are no errors with each file, you should be back
in
business. If you experience errors after copying a .USR file, it might
be
corrupt. Delete that file and the system will re-create it with the
default
settings. You may need to re-do some settings.

Let us know if this works for you.
