Jennifer You have the option to edit that by either editing the Event definition to work for either living or deceased or by using Sentence overide for each individual. Change the part for sentence for Occupation if the date is not filled in to read Just "Occupation: [description].
Technically, the past tense for an Occupation fof someone living is not incorrect to use, unless you were just hired and have not yet reported to work! I have, for example one living person with only the Description filed filled with "School Teacher". The date field is not filled in. The sentence reads "She worked as a School Teacher" Jennifer -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Paula Ryburn Sent: Sunday, 11 September 2005 2:25 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Version 5 Wrong tense for living Which events? What date(s) on the events? If someone is still alive, but the Occupation is for 1995, you would want "worked", wouldn't you? --Paula I don't know what I have doe, but all the Event sentences for my living people living now say, for example, 'He worked...' instead of 'He works....' I have reset the sentence definitions, done a File maintenance ....still the same.
