Yes, yes, yes!

And studying those neighbors sometimes will give great clues as to who a daughter married, etc. Especially if you are researching in rural areas where the daughter may have been given land as part of her dowry. Many times I've gotten valuable information by looking at neighboring farm dwellings. I often also see the family of the groom living nearby, and that also gives me a clue as to the groom's background.

If chldren live very closely nearby, I often make one census event that includes more than one household, with a note explaining the connection.

While censuses are not perfect (as we all can testify :-), they still can give valuable information. I keep a subscription census service for exactly that (and other) reasons. The trail leads through many unexpected places through these censuses.
