Hi John,
I tried your location and it is sticking as shown - which doesn't help you.
However, checking in the Master Location list in Options I think I've
found your problem.
Open the Master Location List
Click the Options button and then Expand/Contract location parts.
check the selections under this
Hope that's the one,
Cathy

Problem:
When I enter a location, I always enter as complete a description
has I can; e.g., Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa, USA. I have
selected to have the Short Location name displayed on the Family
View, but after entering a location as above, Legacy chooses to
enter a short version of its own choosing, e.g., Oskaloosa, IA, in
both the Family View screen and the Individual Information
screen. This occurs even if I haven't entered a short location
name, or if I have, a different short name. In addition, even if
I'm not entering a new location, if I open an Individual Information
screen in which I've already entered the locations in Ver 5.0, the
locations are converted to short names with no action on my part. I
suspect that there are some customize selections which didn't
convert from 5.0, but I've searched throught the Customize screens
and the Location options and haven't figured out the problem.
Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas how to solve it? I'm
reluctant to do any work with Ver 6.0 until I figure this out
because I don't want all the Location Names changed from the way I want them.

Any help gratefully appreciated.
