You can still get ver 5 at http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/helpDownloadVersion5.asp
but could Ros open a file that may have already been converted to ver 6?

But the code for the deluxe features is still there.

but v6 at nearly 25Mb keeps crashing my computer, it
has so many 'bells and whistles' - and I can't afford to upgrade to
XP and get broadband.

Legacy.exe went from 15mb in V5 to 19mb in V6. But the big culprit was RG.dat
(Research Guidance), which added 18mb (abt 8mb compressed). I have already
suggested that RG be made an optional download ... like the Geo database
files.

Or can you go to the Legacy site and get older versions?

You can probably still get V5 from the Legacy website ... maybe even earlier
versions. Someone may be able to post a link.
