Hi Elizabeth,

A small point but one which some people may find useful - if, after sorting, the assumed dates are removed the children/spouses retain their new order.

Legacy 6 Potential Problems has a check box for sort order of children. Search, Miscellaneous has a check box for individuals with multiple spouses. Order of children and spouses is well worth checking before editing a book report for publication.

My personal preference is to enter estimated birth dates for children with unknown dates and estimated marriage dates for all individuals with multiple spouses, explaining the reasoning for the guess so it will stay with a GEDCOM export in case of transfer to a researcher using a non-Legacy genealogy program. -- Elizabeth
