Yes, that's the kind of thing I'm looking for.

Meanwhile, I'm solving it in software... I'm scanning the database
myself (as an exported 'basic' gedcom file) and constructing the list of
marriage IDs which I can then copy and paste into the muliple descendant
book report window. 

(While I'm at it, I'm tagging my (and my wife's) grandparents, and
exporting that tag - this allows me to group the descendant lines in the
same way that Legacy does the color coding of ancestral lines.)
