For my *shire* question, I was actually referring to the Individual Information screen where I input the data. I use the comma placeholders as recommended by Legacy, but don't know how many to put before or after the name of the shire--if that's all I have.

I have decided to use 3 "areas" for my Locations - Town, County and Country. I think the important thing is to be consistent. As you will know the Country if you know the County, it would be ",County, Country". You could use 4 "areas" and include Village or Parish, I suppose.

If I have additional address information, such as street and/or village, I put this in the appropriate address section - this is usually Event Address for information from a Census. In Baptism address, for example, I will put the name and street address of the Church where the Baptism took place.

I believe I read somewhere that it is not correct to put street address as part of a Master Location.
