Hi Ed,
I cannot see how one can possibly do this. You mention "relative paths" but
relative to what? Surely the path on the recipients computer will be
dependent entirely on where the picture folder is stored on their computer.
It only works with web pages because the file structure on a server is
exactly the same as that on the source computer and a browser knows where to
start looking for the files.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Exporting media with gedcom? (for TNG)
Date: Wed, 12 Apr 2006 07:47:16 -0500
Hi,
I'm trying to get my photos along with the gedcom. Unfortunately the
gedcom file gives the full path name (FILE C:\ ...). Specifically, I'm
trying to get the photos exported from Legacy to TNG (The Next
Generation) for the website. Is there a way to get a relative pathname
into the gedcom file, for recipients who don't have the same folder
structure?
Thanks,
Ed Barnard
