.aft is Ancestry Family Tree Data File (MyFamily.com Inc.)
.afz is Ancestry Family Tree Backup Data File (MyFamily.com Inc.)

The ".ged" in the file name may mean that they're really GEDCOM text
files; you could rename one of them to "young.ged" and try importing as
a GEDCOM.  If it's a GEDCOM it should also be readable as plain text.

If the files are Ancestry Family Tree format you'll probably have to
have your relative or someone else export them from their Family Tree
program as GEDCOMs, which you can then import.
