That's a good idea - make groups in email addresses.
I know I need to get more organised.

I've started adding a "person" in Legacy called Research <SURNAME>
Under this person I list things I've found that don't belong to any particular person - yet - eg census results that include an unusual family name but don't yet fit.
I also am listing contacts.

Also, when the person is part of my tree, I add a private event called Family Historian and put their details there.

I use Outlook Express for this. I set up a group for each surname and when I meet a new cousin/researcher, I add them to the appropriate group and make notes on how they are related or what their interest is.

When something new is discovered, I can easily click the group and send to all.
