Hello,
I recently created a separate Legacy database of relatives baptized, married
or died in the village of Neudorf, Baden. Before I merge them into my main
database I want to correct a couple of problems I created.
When I created a source citation for a marriage, the source detail window
has a "Recorded date" to fill in and next to it a button "Todays Date" which
I pushed to enter "7 Feb 2006" for example. Next I attached a picture, (jpg)
of the original Latin/ German marriage record, entered a caption and the
same date again, "7 Feb 2006", next to the caption. Later I realized the
date next to the picture caption should be the marriage date rather than the
date I recorded into Legacy.
Thinking I could simply copy and paste using Access (2000), I looked up
marriage date in tblMR, MarD and Picture date in tblBR, PicDate but the
format is incompatible for simple copy/paste.
Next I changed date display format from "d mmm yyyy" to "yyyy mm dd" and
something odd happens. The dates in PicDate did not change format but were
locked in "d mmm yyyy". MRIN1 had 2 pictures, 1 cropped to single marriage
and 2 the full page. When I changed one from "7 Feb 2006" to "20 Jul 1723"
and saved, it changed format to "1723-07-20".
I would appreciate if someone could help me create an update query to get
the marriage date into the picture date, preferably as aflexible formatted
date, (I usually want 3 letter month but change to reverse for chronological
sort). The IDBPic = 13 is the subdirectory for just marriage pictures.
Once I get marriages I think I can redo it for baptisms and deaths. This
will help me verify my data and make certain the page order is
chronologically correct.
Thank you,
