Hi John,
I can't think of an easy way since you're doing more than combining
Master Sources. If I've understood you correctly, you'll need to
shift the Street address from the Master Source to the Source Detail
- and hopefully add the formal reference, (series, piece, folio,
page) I think you'll have to make your new Master Sources and then do
them one by one.
The only shortcut is to set up the Source Clipboard with the new
Master Source and add the Source detail so you can add it with a
click to all appropriate places for each person in the household.
I have one Master source for each way I access the census - ie that
has the same publication details.
eg: if I had a County CD for the 1861 Census, that would form a Master Source.
So for the 1861 Census I currently have two Master Sources
1861 census for England & Wales - as found on Ancestry.co.uk
1861 census for Sherborne, Dorset - as found on LDS film.
There is some advantage to splitting it up into counties or smaller
regions if you're wanting to use the Show List to get a list of
people in that area at that time.
No enough for me to have more Master Sources as I can get close to
that by combinations of searches.

hello Ron Ferguson and list
Thank you for letting me know that I am now on the list as I have
not been able to make contact for several months
I would like a little help please.
I have many sources such as
1861 census 10 Every street, Manchester, Lancashire, Smith Family
1861 Census 22 Brown street, Manchester, Lancashire, Jones Family
Etc
I have all the census set this way
As a result I now have hundreds of Sources
I would like to change them to such names as
Lancashire,Manchester- 1861 - UK Census (and leave out the family
names and the street)
In this way I could shorten my Master Sources List quite dramatically
I would want to do this for all my Counties and just have the major
towns shown as above
Is there an easy way to change them
OR do I have to retype every entry of the Master Source
Hope this is clear enough of what I wish to do
Regards
John
