What a good idea!

Yes, but the problem is that web-sites tend to move, or be
re-organised. However, if Millennia could implement a function to
check web-sites, then this would be an excellent idea.

The simplest approach would be to implement a "Check external
web-links" button. This would then produce a short list of any
unsuccessful site accesses.

Of course, one could get really sophisticated with this sort of thing.
For example, Legacy could automatically check any linked sites once a
day, and if the web access fails, make a note. If a web-site access
fails several times over the course of a several days (or however
often Legacy is started), then report to the user that the site has
been "unavailable" for some time.

It would be nice if it could also scans Notes individual/marriage
notes as well as sources, for web-addresses and then check them as
described above.

I suspect that this is all asking a bit much of Millennia, but would
be, in my opinion a valuable resource for maintaining the integrity of
our data-bases.

Hope my contribution helps
