Well, although I'm primarily using darcs, bzr is on the 2nd place of
my DVCS.

However, recently I stumbled upon Fossil (http://www.fossil-scm.org)
and I must say I'm quite impressed with it.

Otoh, git is definitely the last option I'd use to keep my code
under. I believe that speed is not at all, but prefer simplicity.

Fossil, can be hosted on any cheap shared hosting which allows CGI
scripts.
