I think that archinux, slawkware and BSD are both systems that mostly
targeting advanced unix users, so who would know how to install a simple
python apps and dependencies. Maybe I'm wrong...

>From all experiences people have shared concerning last *.deb* builds, it
seems that it's working without problems. Doesn't it work for you ?
I don't either understand the point about KDE. At least with Debian/Ubuntu
systems with KDE, I did install Leo from .deb without problem.

For RPM, it's another story since nobody reported any experience.
I don't think a simple conversion from deb will do the work, since RPM
would need to be build for every distro in order to include their specific
dependencies.
If there is any demand and testers, I could keep working on it...

I'm not used to it, could you clarify what would be the need of autotools
for distributing a simple python package ?

By the way, merry christmas :)
