I used 4.4.16 in my most recent build. I did not update BLFS to this version. There are some API changes, however, so far I've only had to patch Python. I am quite confident though, that if we run into any other issues there is either 1)patches already available or 2) we could create our own as Sleepycat is *very* good at documenting all the API changes between versions, and how to adapt older code to the newer API. I probably am close to updating BLFS, but I wanted to throw down a few more packages and ensure we don't see a whole bunch of breakage. Packages known to use 4.4.16 so far include Python, Sendmail, Heimdal, Subversion and there are probably others I can't remember right off-hand. -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 10:30:00 up 101 days, 19:54, 3 users, load average: 0.03, 0.17, 0.42 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
