Yes hda. There is no hdb, but there is sd{a,b,c} as well as hda. The
system hw is from 2005.
I don't know why sdc is still present. There is no usb drive plugged in:
hdparm -i /dev/sda

It appears that udev did not remove /dev/sdc or the accompanying /sys
info when the drive was removed. I don't recall when I last used a
thumb drive on this system. The uptime is 148 days.
