definitely not necessary.
Also I'm not sure how to contact the person whom maintains the amd64 /
i386 / sparc64 hosts for the OpenBSD FATE build hosts but I'd recommend
upgrading the sparc64 system to at least 4.8 from 4.6 / 4.7 its on now
but preferably upgrading all three to 4.9.
