Man, I love this guy. He is saying exactly what some of us have been saying for a long while now. The key will be to mitigate the things he see coming, and imitating how the soviet population got by to a great extent is the key, and what some of us have been trying to accomplish and pointing out why others should be doing the same thing. Unless you want to be a single leaf on the raging sea, it is imperative to to start reversing the trend of atomization, and start thinking of coming to gather on single properties, as it will be easier for a group of people to maintain a household or property (industrial property is a good choice in some ways, as is farm land), then being atomized. The thing is, that I don't see the trends that got us in the position we are in in this country as an accident, put has been planned to leave us very vulnerable so we can more easily be conquered and subdued.
One of the things that I read that the Russians are doing to mitigate the problem, is that they are living in communities that are basically housing surrounding central or small areas for food and other production, and this is pretty near a model that I've been trying to get people to consider, as some of you will recall, for a very long time. While there are a few things I do disagree with or see differently, it is pretty head on. Hoarding copper (though I'm by no means knocking silver and such, just that there isn't enough of it in itself to provide for a functional economy, though the people who will have some of it will be better off then most, if they have other preps in place. It will however only go so far if an economy isn't maintained or until an economy is formed) would go a long ways towards mitigating some of the problems as well. Disregard it at your own risk. If anybody would like to join up to get some of this goals advanced, let me know, as I need help and have some unique resources available (land, equipment, experience, etc., but lack in help that is willing or able to advance some of these preparations is in short supply) as well. Most know that I'm not the control freak sort, so the control freak sort need not respond, otherwise I'm pretty amiable, though the thieving sort will not be tolerated either. Being that it is spring, now is the perfect time, not only season wise, but for me to get things done, as I will have less demand on my time.
