--- Comment #2 from Alberto Dietze <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Buovjaga from comment #1) > I suspect there is a misunderstanding. The paragraph you quoted was me > quoting AlmaLinux devs. AlmaLinux is the "we" providing an additional > x86-64-v2 architecture, not LibreOffice. So when LibreOffice bumps the Linux > build platform baseline next time, it can adopt the x86-64-v2 AlmaLinux > variety. Uhm... well, so you are explaining me that when LO will adopt the "new" AlmaLinux requirements excluding the v2, no options will provided for the cpu-v2 owners? In such case, my bad, sorry. I thought it was about LO's plan to provide v2 support. > On your old Mac, can't you run a distro that supports x86-64-v1 and use the > packaged LibreOffice? I believe Arch Linux is an option as it seems you want > to run the latest and greatest. The bug report isnt "about myself", because I could certainly install a distribution that is (objectively) more difficult, such as Arch, as you suggested; my point is about the AVERAGE, user that isnt so skilled. And, IMHO, it seems we are saying: "LO doesnt run with your hardware and your Operating System? Just backup data, format, install a new operating system, learn it, and install LO" . . . Honestly it sound like this to me - not to be sarcastic, just that to solve a flag not enabled in our process at compile time, the "easy" solution is changing operating system... and again, I try to be more clear, sorry if I wasnt, Im not arguing about "my mac", Im trying to raise the point for the average user, the one for which LO is born probably; and the average user looks for something simple, not complex as "changing os". --- Little oot: I run Debian, that as you know, isn't the definition of "latest" :) ... cause I just try to run the "latest" in the "secure" meaning :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
