Actually, it doesn't even cover Western, because there are lots of "Western" scripts which are not Latin at all, like Amharic. Anyway, the typeface choices must 'match', at least in some senses. Specifically, with Hebrew and with Arabic/Farsi, there is a choice (or a tentative choice) of default typefaces, and the default body typeface is Serif. So, even if this were to be considered - it must be considered for all scripts where Serif/Sans Serif is a meaningful distinction; and there should be a concrete suggestion for all those scripts, before a change goes through for the Latin alphabet. Finally - the discussion regarding Liberation vs Noto, as opposed to Sans Serif vs Serif, is interesting, but belongs in a separate bug IMNSHO. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
