Go to Tools -> Options -> View panel and be sure that 'Force Skia software rendering' is checked enabled -- this disables skia Vulkan rendering (and is the default now at the 26.8 release build. Also, a massive drag for some reason with marginal gpu/driver combinations is doing font previews. >From the same Tools -> Options -> View panel uncheck the 'Show previews of fonts' to disable the way listboxes (on the Standard toolbar, the Sidebar Properties deck, and the Notebookbar assemblages) are generated.
