--- Comment #2 from Jaideep <[email protected]> ---
Skia rendering appears to be enabled by default, and there doesn't seem to be
an option to explicitly enable or disable it.

I also disabled font previews, but this did not have any noticeable effect on
the issue.

After using the application for some time, I realized that the current
performance issue is not limited to typing. I initially described it as typing
lag, but the problem appears to affect the entire application UI. For example,
clicking windows to change their style or interacting with items in the menu
bar can sometimes require two or three clicks before the action is registered.

There is a noticeable delay between user input and the corresponding UI
response, making basic interactions feel unusually sluggish. It almost feels as
though the application is running under severe CPU or resource constraints,
despite these being relatively simple UI operations.

That said, typing lag itself is not a new issue. Similar typing-lag reports
have been made as far back as 2019, and several of those reports were closed
without a clear or definitive fix. One of the recurring difficulties in
investigating those reports appears to have been the lack of sufficient
diagnostic data to reliably reproduce and identify the underlying cause.

In this case, however, the issue seems to go beyond typing performance. The lag
appears to affect general UI responsiveness as well, which may indicate that
there is a broader performance or event-handling issue involved rather than a
problem isolated to text input or font rendering.
