Install RedHat, but omit the XFree86 packages. Then visit www.xfree86.org,
and follow the instructions.

The basic procedure will be:

    - Download the basic install tools (Xinstall.sh, extract) and put them
in a directory
    - Download the base packages (in the README) like Xlibs.tgz, etc.
    - Run the installer script (sh Xinstall.sh)
    - Answer the prompts (or, hit return a lot of times)

Also beware that XFree86 4.1.0 has a bad 3Dfx glide driver module. Why does
this affect you? If you try to generate an XF86Config file by running
Xfree86 -configure, you will not be successful until you remove the
offending module. When XFree86 comes across an error, it stops processing
the modules -- and all of them fail. This is all outlined in the online
addendum.

It's not a scary procedure at all. In fact, there are many pieces of
software that probably need to be updated. And just for reference, I won't
install RedHat 7.0 (especially 7.1); I have 6.1 on my own machine
temporarily. Hope that helps.

-Jason
