I'd wipe the entire HD under DOS, then start testing from there. If it's been dropped, then I'd double-check to make sure the HD is properly seated, any extra RAM is properly seated, connections are secure, etc. Exploded parts diagram on my site to help. Then, I'd boot to a Doc Memory RAM tester (www.simmtester.com or was it simt...) floppy disk and make sure the RAM is okay. If that passes, you can fdisk and format the HD to make sure that's okay. If that passes, off you go with reinstalling everything.
