I don't think it matters if the signal get's pumped by way of using the headphone output from the receiver the way I described, or by a line-in amp feeding the TDK input. Again, here's what I did: >I've switched the output from the receiver from line- >out to headphone output where I can pump up the >signal feeding the TDK's line-input. But for some >reason the signal in SoundForge levels off at - >7.5db, and won't pump up to the 3.5db point the >sound card in my PC will get to in SF. So essentially the signal was getting boosted going into the TDK line-in via the headphone output on the receiver. That instead of feeding the TDK from the receiver's line-out. Again, here's what I'm seeing; -------------------------------------- Maximum recording signal in SoundForge 0db being maximum level before clipping Using the TDK Aux-in volume control maxed Receiver line-out to TDK line-in: 11-12db Receiver headphone output to TDK line-in: 7.5db -------------------------------------- I can crank the headphone output up further, but the recording signal just maxes out at 7.5db without indicating clipping for some reason I don't understand. When I feed the same receiver headphone output into the sound card in my desktop, I can crank the receiver volume up to where the recording level in SoundForge comes right up to 0db, and clips. Anyone know any audio support lists where might get help on this? There's Hydrogen, but I've not had much luck there with issues of this sort in the past. > Libretto. From your website: ------------------------------ CPU (process size, L1 Cache): Intel Pentium with MMX (0.25u?, 32KB) CPU Speed & Voltage: 266 (#/#V) CPU Clock Multiplier: 4.0 Standard/Max RAM: 64/128 EDO with 512KB L2 cache Dimensions 221 X 132 X 29.8 ------------------------------ A bit faster and twice the RAM.... interesting.
