Subject: Cryptic Message at Boot - W2K

Hello all,

This email is a slight protocol breach, as it concerns my daughter's Toshiba
Portege 7010CT - but I really need some help. I set this PC up as dual-boot
W98se & W2K/SP3. It's been working great for her at school, until just
recently. After resuming from hibernation (but *not* from a cold boot) this
message
is displayed:

"The last attempt to restart the system from its previous loaction failed.
Attempt to restart again?
Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu
     Continue with system restart"

If she chooses "Delete restoration data..." everything proceeds normally, but
the second choice fails to advance booting to the OS menu.

When resuming from hibernation, the "Resuming Windows" screen appears, then
the display shows a very brief blue screen with a message too fleeting to read,
then the Toshiba red logo, then the menu above.

I can't find any info on the web, and was hoping one of you had encountered
this before. Thanks for any suggestions.
