Thanks for the test.

Yeah. On one hand, if we don't display the warning, people may wonder
why they can't access their USB mice and keyboard using the HID driver
and on the other hand, with USB mice and keyboards being prevalent, it
may make sense to reduce the severity so that the message isn't displayed.

I guess it'll be yet another case of "Let's see if people complain about
it, and then advise"...

Fair point. I was actually looking for a benign commit to insert between
the RC and the release (something that seems to work without the need
for further adjustments is way too suspicious), so I guess I'll apply
this minor change before the release.

Not sure what you mean by that. Of course you know that a device can
advertise 2.0 capabilities while being set to work at 1.x speeds. Or do
you think there's something that needs fixing?

I haven't tried usbutils with libusbx under cygwin, but I tried the
latest git version under Linux, using one of the latest kernels, to
check that our library performed as expected against 3.0 devices, and
everything looked good there too.

I wouldn't mind having a look at MinGW compilation/port of usbutils, as
it's a great tool to have, but I doubt I'll have a chance to do that
anytime soon...
