KDE4 will use cmake => cmake will be widely used and tested.

My personal objections are:
 - It's slow!
 - It's not easy to grasp what's actually being done...
 - ... which means fixing build problems takes more time than it should.
 - The admin dir is 588kb
 - Did I mention that it's slow?
 - Probably some more stuff that I've forgotten.

The question is then: Why not switch?
 - The current system works (most of the time).
 - Autotools is probably more widespread.
