Well, this can be the cause of many problems. You need to use the same qt-gui version as the daemon. If you are having trouble compiling Qt, e-mail the list about the details. You said it can't find the Qt libraries. Did you try setting QTDIR environment variable or using the configure command line switches to tell it where to look?
