Hi list,
I had a really hard day trying to not be so dumb and complain about not
working sound output in LICQ to the list, but I couldn't figure it out.
Sometimes sound works, like Message and MsgSent, but sometimes not, like
OnlineNotify
What I did:
- I can promise that all files are there, as I parsed the licq.conf file
and made an exist test against every file.
- I also know that I have a running artsdeamon and replaced the play
command with /usr/bin/artsplay
- After that did't work for a while I replaced the artsplay program with
a shellscript to show me if it is really executed when a user gets
online... it is NOT.
- I enabled OnEvents :-)
I recognised that I'm most of the time in "away" mode. In the KDE GUI I
can enable OnEvents in away and N/A mode, so this should be fine. BUT my
licq.config has no corresponding entry under "onevents" that tells me
that this option is enabled. Anyway, OnlineNotify does not even work
when I'm in status online.
Here is my onevent section from my licq.conf

Mmm, what else do you need....
I'm using LICQ 1.2.7/SSL with KDE UI 1.2.7 from Debian unstable on a
Debian unstable machine.
Sound usually works.... :-)
I don't have any ideas left, next thing I'd do is to look into the
source, but as I don't have so much free time and already spend a whole
day on searching for the error, maybe someone of you got an idea.
