I would expect that the problem doesn't appear when no texinfo files are concerned. So pure C++ code changes shouldn't have any influence. On the other hand, it might be that either a new version number might cause such problems, or a rebuild due to changes in some texinfo file... That's all just speculation, though, based on experience and gut feeling.
