... why not update the Wiki accordingly?

There must be a very good reason to do that, and IMHO you haven't
explained why this should happen.

IMHO, the right course would be that you get an account on the Wiki,
update the snippet, click on the bell symbol to watch it, and take
care that it stays updated correctly, preventing vandalism and the
like.
