Hallo Werner
But I now realise that this wiki is unsuitable as a repository for
LSR1098 which provides pseudoIndent [1].
Why?
The most objective reason follows immediately:
[There are other reasons, but this one suffices]
The pseudoIndent wiki has acquired errors in several places, not
just the .ily code but also the instructions and the demo code.
This can easily happen, but...
I then think: what a damning admission!
The LSR wasn't like that for me.
- Gardener Harm did his rounds at each stable version
- Maybe a few generic maintenance edits from others
- 1098 had one case of meddling, which I contained until ready for it.
So from now on I will keep pseudoIndent out of reach of itchy fingers.
I intend to make pseudoIndent resources available via a sparse series
of updates on lilypond-user, the archived attachments serving as a
repository.
The stuff currently on the wiki should be taken off without delay.
... why not update the Wiki accordingly?
because that doesn't solve the problem that 'This can easily happen'.
And when it does happen, it wastes the time of an unsuspecting user,
wastes my time helping out and starts giving pseudoIndent a bad name.
The purged wiki page need only provide a link to the update series
[3], but maybe also displaying the demo.pdf would be appropriate.
There must be a very good reason to do that,
There is. It solves the problem that 'This can easily happen'.
Not in a trendy way, but very effective - and no scraping required!!!
and IMHO you haven't explained why this should happen.
IMHO, the right course would be that you get an account on the Wiki,
update the snippet, click on the bell symbol to watch it, and take
care that it stays updated correctly, preventing vandalism and the
like.
Whew. That also explains it. Time saved for practicing scales.
Cheers,
Robin
