4-noteheads would satisfy me, but many LPers here like to reproduce
more or less the precise appearance of scores.

However, both VW scores reproduce the notelengths in the guide notes,
the Elgar includes the stem (always Up) but not the dot (all happen
to be black), the Britten reproduces the notehead colour, but with
no stems, and simple 4-noteheads suffice for Howells and Finzi.

A further complication is that the Finzi guide notes, which are placed
near the last beat of the measure, involve chords because the voices
divide (see attached).
