I didn't realize from earlier pictures that it was a mature bear.  That's a big guy!!   -- Is anyone on this listserve familiar with what, exactly, one should do if confronted by a bear in the woods?  I've heard variously 1) that you should turn and walk quietly away; 2) that you should wave your arms and holler and hope s/he runs away; 3) that you should resist any urge to climb a tree because bears can climb trees; 4) that you should stand still and hope it goes away.  Any of these hold any water? Would love to hear from someone who Really Knows!

Taken yesterday on Grasshopper Lane at about 5:30. Bird feeders are now put away. The bear is tagged and we have notified the wildlife agency in case they are keeping track.

Hello LT,

A fairly large black bear came a’callin’ in my yard at 4:30 am stealing my new bird feeder (see attached video)

We live in the area of Birches School, the Bedford Road / Route 2 intersection (near Tracy’s) and Oak Knoll Rd.

Needless to say my feeders have been removed from the yard…
