It seems to me this is a "contradictio in terminis".

You want to run a Director projecter, a very graphical environment, as a service which is designed or at leat must be able to run "faceless" ( services start before anybody logs in).

I think you're better off putting an alias of the projector in the start-up directory, configure your machine to have an automatic logon AND program your app to intercept all errors(look into the alerthook). Whenever an error occurs you can put a message in stating that "due to an error the kiosk will restart in 5 seconds" and use budapi to restart the machine (thus automaticly logging on, starting up your projector,....)

Hi List,

Does anyone have any thoughts \ tips \ tricks or warnings for running
projectors as a service on windows xp/2k/2k3 machines, especially in
regards
to things like running kiosk applications that run 24/7?
And whether it's possible to restart the app if there is an error etc?

Many Thanks
