lot with the suggestions. Thanks again.

Just one point - i used QuickTimePresent() which is indeed boolean.
QuickTimeVersion, hower, gives the version number and is not Boolean. e.g.
'put the QuickTimeVersion' yields a number and not a true, false, 1 or 0.
