I have a project where a Director movie has to be displayed in a MIAW, because if I put it on the stage all the 'off stage' elements are displayed. As a result, I have to keep my app full screen, which is a bit annoying...
All your "off stage" elements should not be showing up unless you have your LDM (linked director movie) sprite set to either 0 width or 0 height. The sprite will crop the LDM based on width and height for everything except 0, also check the LDM member to make sure you have it set to crop, if you want cropping or scale if you want scaling.
This will work, I've done it many times. If it isn't and you have a small sample movie you can send me off-list, I'll check it for you.
