The open command should work if you just want to run the PowerPoint 
Viewer application.  Syntax is:

  open fullPathToDocument with fullPathToPowerPointViewer

If this doesn't work, show us what you are using.

Another option if you heavily into Lingo and want the PowerPoint file 
to be driven by Director would be to use the PowerPoint Viewer XTRA 
by RavWare.  There are some articles on DOUG.  Go to 
http://www.director-online.com and do a search on the word: 
PowerPoint.
