There will be limitations based on the processor speed and the speed at
which director is running. You can fill like you are asking, but the lines
will be jagged if the mouse is moved to fast.

I wrote a drawing program for a project about a year ago, if you are still
having problems you can email me directly and I will see what I can do to
help you out.

Have you looked at the imaging Lingo example included
with the normal Director 8 & 8.5 install ? (imaging.dir)
It is a decent example of the scenario that you are
attempting to achieve.

It should be located in the Learning folder.

Subject: <lingo-l> drawing like in a drawing prgramme

hi List,
I am currently expeimenting with the image lingo, and want to write a small
drawing program with director.
what i have done so far:

I am dragging a little dot castmember along at the mouse coordinates 'while
the stilldown' and as part of this loop I then copy (with each iteration of
the loop) the little dot into another castmember that acts as my canvas.
This is where the problem starts: I cannot get a contiuous line drawn out,
only a series of dots which are more or less closly spaced depending on the
speed at which I am moving the mouse allong. Is it a limitation of the
processor (not enough loop cycles to 'fill in the gaps'?

Does anyone have any experience with this?
Many Thanks,
Nik Crosina
