I left out a step:
do the following:
1) create a batch file that restarts the machine
2) put this file in the scheduled tasks applet set to the middle of
the night or a known down-time
3) put a line in the "run" section in the Registry to restart your
program. make sure it is after the other stuff.
it's here in the Win 2k registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
works like a charm... <grin>
